Estate

Estate

Partry House has a fine cut stone stable yard behind the main house, with belfry. It has been completely restored and is in daily use. The stone wet and dry boathouse with pier have also been restored, providing an attractive lakeside leisure area.

A tall stone arch guards the approach to the estate from the main road (there is evidence that this may have been part of a larger building) beside the gate lodge. Another smaller stone arch is nearby.

Farm

The land around Partry Estate varies considerably and is particularly diverse. Plentiful and various species of flora and fauna abound and as such has been given Special Area of Conservation designation. The estate is an idyllic and uspoilt environment and a game sanctuary. A two-acre walled vegetable garden is close by the house. An Edwardian lean-to glass house has also been restored to use.

The farm with some 70 acres of pasture is now fully organic and produces quality beef, lamb and vegetables. The fields are fully fenced and perimeter walls are repaired. The land has been drained and managed with appropriate fertilisers.

Restoration

The present owner bought Partry House and Estate in 1995 and has since been restoring, repairing and refurbishing. Visitors since have heard the story of the Lynch family and Partry House. It is seen as an asset to the locality as a visitor attraction and evidence of the rich cultural heritage of the area.
